Hello, I'll be coming across to Riyadh soon and will have to find my own accommodation. I was thinking of a compound. I hear they all have a lot of empty property and are open to negotiation - does anyone have a ball park figure of discount that might be negotiable? Many many thanks!

Just arrived and going through the same process myself this week with compounds, so I'll let you know how I get on.
I did visit Al Bustan - tres expensive but very nice - I think their 'token gesture' discount would have been around 10%, if that.
But when you''re charging 196K SR for one bedroom, then I'm sure you're not the discounting type.
I don't think it's much of a buyers market there.

ps - always offer half, argue around 1/3 and settle on 25% off if you have to - standard practice where 'I' come from
