Can anyone tell me how long a visa takes to be processed, as the rptka too 5 1/2 weeks.
Really frustrated having to wait so long

The answer to your question very much depends on which country you are applying a visa for, which type of visa and where you apply (in-country, embassy, consulate, through agent, ...). It can range from less than a day to several months. Some countries also have an "express" option which gets you the visa faster for a higher fee.
If you already know which country's visa you want to apply for, you could post in that country's sub-forum. But even better if you ask the visa-issuing authority for the options and times needed.
