Was in Shanghai a couple of weeks ago. If anyone is planning a trip you need to know the internet is locked down like I have never seen in the past. Many sites have no access (FB, Google ect.) and it is very slow or disconnects. Locals tell me that Beijing will soon not allow the use of other VPN's . This has impacted many businesses in China. Also if traveling on business with a Business Visa it is required to get the local Work Permit. I was told that some Foreigners have been arrested and if the case they will never allow you to enter again.
