Anybody know a good ENT specialist ?

I've always thought of myself as a lucky man. Still do. However maybe my luck
is running out.
I came to Bali last in the middle of July '17. I got on the plane in Perth with a cold.
When I got to Denpasar I had a severe chest infection and was admitted to hospital.
I was given intravenous antibiotics and 6 days later was discharged. All good.
2 weeks ago I woke up here in Perth and was totally deaf. After visit to audiologist,
my GP (several times) and 2 hospitals. I now understand that I have fluid in the
middle ear and this is expected to resolve with time. ( They don't say how much )
Apparently if it doesn't resolve they put grommets in your ears (little tubes)
which allow air in and fluid out. A simple operation needing only a local anesthetic.
I was advised to ask my GP for a referral to a private ENT specialist. He did so.
But the appointment is for November 8 !
I really don't want to be totally deaf for the next 3 months so
Does anyone know a good ENT specialist on Bali ?

Singapore. Australia. Hong Kong. ENT is not a specialty in Indonesia.  There's a hint in the first 3 words of this reply. Seriously, your hearing is a key component of your quality of life so access the best that the profession has to offer. If you have private medical insurance in Australia there is an excellent chance of surgical or medical intervention within weeks rather than months. Get well my friend 👍🏻

First I have to apologise to so many people for wasting their time.
The audiologist, GP and all those people in hospital who tried to
help me.
A couple of days ago I booked a flight back to Bali. I wondered how
my ears would cope with the descent into Bali airport. I tried out the
exercises I would normally use to prevent pain in my ears as the plane
descended. The full wide yawn. ( No effect ) Then the "hold the nose
and force the air out my ears" technique. Lo and behold, My ears
cleared almost immediately. I did that a few times over the next few
hours, but couldn't be sure until I had a conversation with someone.
That happened yesterday, and now I'm sure my ears are back to where
they were before I lost my hearing completely.
I feel like such a fraud. Why didn't I think to do that exercise before ?
I remember how hard it was to communicate with my daughter, and
walking through the busy, but totally silent, mall. Weird.

Thanks Superdave,
I do have full private health cover and my GP referred me privately to
an ENT specialist. the appointment was for November 8. Without a GP
referral few specialists will see you and if they did, private health
insurance probably wouldn't reimburse you.

Stay healthy and enjoy life my friend
