Hi everyone
With a PhD (plus 8 publications) and 4 years of lecturing and research experience from a South African University, how good would be the chances of getting absorbed as an academic in a Canadian university? I've received an invitation to apply for PR recently; currently in the process of collecting the documents to complete the application process..
Your responses in this regard would be helpful in my job hunt in the near future (if my PR application is approved though!!)

Canada have morethan enough PhD to fill faculty jobs. Immigrants starts with Zero meaning until you have Canadian experience you must work as manual laborer for years. There are thousands PhD holders driving taxi in Canada. If you are exceptionally bright and academic you can try your luck. But never guarantee yourself that you will get faculty job easily.
