Up to 15 working days for Stage I approval. Then 1-2 months for Malaysian immigratio to issue the Visa with Reference (VDR), which is required for Indian Citizens (and several other nationlities) to enter the country to take up employment. You are required to get the VDR is stamped at one of the Malaysia High Commissions in India.
On arrival in Malaysia, the employer submits the passport to immigration for endorsement (Stage II). That takes about 10 working days. Timings depend on volume of applications hitting immigration plus delays due to public holidays. Malaysia has a number of upcoming public holidays: 31 August, 1, 9, 16, 22 September
It would probably be a good idea to submit your paperwork for your wife at the same time as your application for Stage I approval if you have everything prepared.
