Holidays / Festivities

Somebody asked what were the main festivities in Puerto Rico, I can not find the particular question so I started a thread.

There are so many but 3 in particular:
1) Christmas Dec 25
2) New Years
3) 3 Kings day (wise men) Jan 6

However those holidays start after thanksgiving and last until Mid January (octavitas, 8 days past Jan 6)

We have many other festivities, as a matter of fact every town has its own, also basically there is sometime of celebration year round. Any excuse for a party, including the dog birthday.

We have catholic and pagan celebrations and many town festivals.

Here are some links:

For something to do any time of the year and places to see I recommend: http://www.calendariopr.com and http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com

Plenty of forests, lakes, waterfalls, river pools, rainforest and over 250 miles of beaches, all of them free.

A little bit about all 78 town with some statistics and their festivities http://welcome.topuertorico.org/exploring.shtml

Rey; Obviously you don't live in PR! The holiday party starts just before Thanksgiving, and ends around mid Jan, after 3 kings! It's just ONE, LOOONG, CONTINUOUS PARTY!!!

I would say that the festivals begin at Thanksgiving and end just after Easter.
