Can you please tell me what internet access is like in Moscow? Is there wireless? What other alternatives are there for getting a connection from my laptop computer (I am coming from Australia)?

Most apartments have broadband. Most cafes have free or paid wifi. The main GSM providers also have some availability of wifi on the streets.
Basically, as good as most places.
