we would like to spend under 4 months (but over 90 days) traveling through Europe (schengen countries) with our longest time spent in Finland.Could anyone advise me how we can extend the visa for an extra couple of weeks?
I can't seem to get any advice from Australia or Finland....

I'm not sure it is at all possible to stay extra time on a schengen visa. Longer stays usually go under the work/study/retirement visa.

I suggest you contanct the finnish ministry of foreign affairs at [email protected] I'm sure they can tell you more.
