Hello, I applied for my work/resident permit almost two months ago and I'm still yet to get it. And my visa is almost expired. Is there any way I can accelerate the process, I'm working for an NGO in Mauritius.

Hello,

You can always call or visit the office to inquire however I'm not sure you can accelerate the process.

What you can possibly do on the other hand is apply for an extension of your current visa.

The law is clear, you can't be in Mauritius while your application for work/residence permit is in process. Your presence on the island might have blocked the whole process. It is advisable that you contact the authorities as soon as possible. If your visa has also expired, it would mean your stay is illegal.
