Hello everyone,

Did you plan your budget before your move to Ghana? If so, how did you go about it?

How do you save money in your day to day life? Do you find there are any areas where you can't cut costs?

Do you have any tips about saving money in Ghana? For example, getting the best deals on accommodation, grocery shopping and dining out, the best value transportation, etc..

Are there any apps or websites that have helped you to save money?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Tonaton app or tonaton.com put out posts on great deals.  It is like a local craigslist and you can always get better deals on almost anything you want to buy. NOTE, when meeting with the sellers for money transactions; make sure you meet them at a public place like any of the shoprite outlets.

1. Stop travelling in Taxi. Buy or Hire a car on monthly basis.
2. Buy USD whenever you can. The USD rate is increasing everyday.
3. Put money in a bank which does not charge you money. Example Bank of Baroda.
4. Cook by yourself.
