Hi guys,
I got a job with a school in Kuching.
The interview was on skype ,but because of bad connection we didn't use video.
The interview went smoothly and the interviewer asked me the standard questions.
He sent me a contract that looked legitimate, and after forwarded an email that he said was the malaysian immigration office and that they would book my tickets and process my work permit.
I got suspicious when I saw the email ended in @fastservice.com and that they have asked for a large sum to cover my flights and work documents through a bank transfer and would then send me those documents in two weeks time to me ,the address for this immigration office does not appear on google.
Other than being to good to be true my employer seems legit ,I only got suspicious with the immigration people. Can anyone give me advice,is this unusual and how do i find out for sure if this is a scam!

Of course it's a scam - no Malaysian International school would ask you for money. The cost of processing a visa is only about RM500 anyway.
There have been similar ones involving hospitals - please PM me.
100% pure scam.
The moment any of the "Employers" ask for cash you know they're rip off jobs.

I looked into it more and it was a scam.They posed as a school in order to get money.

As soon as I saw the fastservice I googled it and came across your topic.
They're quite smart, having a .edu website with pics from I don't know what places. THey've put some effort into it. Can we report it to Malaysian Authorities somehow?

It is a scam
I am selling some furniture on Craigslist, and after some back and forth via text, got an email from the scammer from fastservice.com that they had made a payment for the goods through PayPal, strangely such a payment did not appear in my PayPal account... and the payment was for $600 dollars over the price of goods, I was to pay that money to his shipping company for pickup... Right!
