Your options are rent or purchase. This is a very generic question - what are your needs, wants, have-to-haves? Budget might be a big factor and location considering the traffic situation in that market.

thanks for your reply; actually we want to rent a one bedroom apartement;we have a budget of 1100 dollars; we want it to be in alexendria or arlington; but since we will be new so i think we can't have a rent in our names since we don't have a job yet and a security number the first 2 months; so i want to know what can we do; thank you and have a good day

Look into Airbnb, check craigslist for room mate adds, check long term prices at extended stay hotels (generally you can negotiate rates somewhat over a 30 day rental and some taxes do not apply anymore).
