I'm actually not Australian but have lived there for 3 years and am back in reunion island now. I'm replying to you as a I'm a travel consultant, and I made a research about your case. For tourism, Australian cititzen is allowed to stay without any visa requirement for a stay up to 1 month. You will need a visa if you intent to stay more than a month.
