Australian + Netherlands Nationals Moving to Belgium

Hi everyone,

My name is Tammy and I am Australian, my partner is a Netherlands national who has family in Belgium.

We are relocating over there in July of this year, to spend time with his family and get to know more about his culture and Europe. I am hoping to get a Working Holiday Visa and my partner can essentially work straight away.

I have been learning French - via a native speaker for almost a year now (still very basic knowledge). My partner understands Dutch and some Flemish + German.

In terms of accommodation - we will be staying with family, so this is not an issue.

Due to the language barriers - we are looking to make friends with other Expats from Australia and/or other people who speak English.

Any hints, tips or advice re: jobs (predominately for English speaking people) will also be highly appreciated. Seems as though it may be difficult to find jobs in most areas due to language  - however we're very open to fruit picking or menial tasks.

Thank you in advance :)

Warm Regards
Tammy B
