Hello

Good day everyone

Is anybody here from Switzerland moved to France? How about the visa ? Did you applied a visa before going to France or you are using yours Schengen visa from Switzerland ?

My situation is I am from Philippines but my husband is British. We are planning to move in Lyon. My question is do I have to apply a visa prior moving to Lyon or I can move to Lyon using my current visa in Switzerland and then apply a Residence visa when I got there in Lyon?

Thank you in advance

Hello,

you can travel to France with your Schengen visa and apply for a long stay visa from France as long as your current Schengen visa is still valid. There is no residence visa. You will be able to apply a "titre de sejour" (residence permit) after you obtain your 1st long stay visa (1 year validity) in France. Good luck.
