I am a Canadian citizen working in Shanghai. I am planning to travel to Italy during my kid's spring break. I thought Canadians don't need a VISA if he travels to Italy for less than 90 days. But someone in Italy Consulte Shanghai told me that I do need a VISA. Can someone with the experience help me?

Thanks!!

Christine

Hi adadali, welcome on Expat-blog! smile.png

If you have a look at the Italy embassy in Canada: Canada is one of the countries that do not require a visa for visits up to a maximum of 90 days.

Good luck and i hope other members from Shanghai will be able to advice you.

Thank you Christine! I later got a written confirmation from Italy Consulate Shanghai that Canadian don't need visa to Italy. I was given wrong information by that woman from the Consulate earlier.

Have a good weekend!
