The holiday season in Afghanistan

Hello everyone,

Are you about to celebrate the holiday season in Afghanistan? In many countries and cultures, the festive season is the time for happiness and reunions/gatherings. Is it so in Afghanistan? How do Afghans celebrate this very special time of the year?

What about you? Will you spend the holiday season in your host country or in your home country? Will there be expat reunions/celebrations/parties in your region/town/area?

Thank you in advance for sharing!

Priscilla

Could you please explain which holidays ate you talking about do you mean christmas?
I will answer you.

HI Khanayjanan,

Yes, Christmas and New year. :)

No we are not celebrating new year and cristmis.
We are celebrating new year only when spring comes.

I know little of your country but I dislike ignorance (especially my own), so I had a little google.

I'd already guessed Christmas was a nothing thing over there, but I hadn't realised you guys don't bother with new year as per the Gregorian calendar.
I'm aware Islam is pretty much 100% over there so I suppose a system created by a pope isn't going to rock your boats.

As I mentioned, I hate being ignorant, so perhaps you could tell us a little something about your new year.

Peace be upon you.
