To settle down, it depends if your company will help you or not, generally, it's not very difficult. To find an accommodation, the same, but you'd better know the local web site to find your self a suitable accommodation(important).

Is it complicated to make friends in France? To make forgeiner friend, it's easier. To make French friend, if you can not speak French, I don't know how. But it's possible, but it's not easy. Normally those French who have traveled a lot,it easier to have a first conversion with. Some of them can be very good friends.
