Northern Light

Hi, I'm planning a trip to Finland over Christmas to hopefully catch a glimpse of the northern lights. Any info on traveling from Stockholm, as well as accommodation in Finland (Lapland) would be appreciated...

Cheers

Of course, there is no guarantee. They don't follow a schedule.

True.. ish.
Sunspot activity follows an 11 year cycle and there's much more chance of seeing them at peak times.

My point is you can't go there on a Monday and leave on Tuesday and be disappointed because you didn't see any.

It's not like buying tickets to a show.

I recommend to go as up high in the north as possible. The brighter and more vivid the Northerner lights will be. Even the Lapland is pretty big place so keep the upper the better thumb rule in mind =)
