1. Remember that December is High Season so expect to pay more.
2. I always look for deals on Jumia Travel or Booking.com. You can often get residents' rates, although I am not sure that will be possible in December.
3. I live in Watamu and much prefer here to Malindi. It all depends what you want though. Quieter or more night life. Kilifi or the northern beaches of Mombasa are also possible.
