Hello expat friends,

I've been reading a lot of the topics and like that everybody is so active in giving advice and tips.

My question today is what life costs in Al Jubail in Euro's or Dollars. I know you might already have talked about it on the forum, but there are so many topics I can't really find it.

I would like to now what the average rent will cost in a compound (I know there is a big differance per compound, but just to have an idea, and is there anybody living in a Aramco compound). What does it cost for water, gas and electricity? Phone, internet and television? Sport accomodations? And most important food and weekly groceries? Could you please let me know this all in Euro's or Dollars.

Thanks for all the effort.

Greetings Orchidee

Hi Orchidee,
I was living in Jubail. Compound prices were starting from 60.000 SR (16.000 USD) to 120.000+ (32.000+ USD),  depends on locations/facilities/bedroom. You have to be sure availability since there is shortage nowadays.
As I know there is no Aramco compound/camp in Jubail, there are two in eastern side (Dhahran and Ras Tanurah). Saudi Arabia is quite cheap on many items. I think 500-700 USD/month will be enough for food. The others app. cost water, gas, elect. 100 USD/month, internet(50 USD/month 4 GB).
1 USD is equal to 3.75 Saudi Riyal (SR)
Good Luck

Sport accommodations avg. (100 $/month)

hope this is enough to you. if it is not, you can contact me any time.

In usd you should be spending more than $1000 per month if you dont have kids, if you do then add another $1500. thats expenses. the compounds I think Oracle trek has given you an idea.
