Hello everyone,

Being an expat in Algeria can turn out to be a wonderful human, social or professional adventure... with potential moments of nostalgia and homesickness along the way.

What are your personal tips to prevent homesickness?

How do you deal with such feelings?

Are there shops or stores offering products from your home country in Algeria? Or maybe venues with music and ambiance from your homeland?

Hello,

To my experience, the best way to overcome homesickness it to keep your self busy...as busy as a bee. but sometimes this is not a widely available option. In a place where work is not widely available, very few grounds for entertainment, lack of tourist services, once can only be very thoughtful of his home.

Helping people is an amazing experience that give you so much satisfaction and get closer to them, especially Algerians. they are very sensitive.

Never the less, I still think that there is never a better place than home, no matter where you came from. A dark place for someone else might be a paradise to another.
