Money systems in China

It was nice to see your post this morning. Can you talk about the money systems in China.
How and where you exchange money?
How far does a US dollar go in day to day living?
Thanks
James

The currency is China is called Renminbi yuan.  The yuan is the official currency.  The notes are 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100.

1.00 USD     =     6.67935 CNY
US Dollar     ↔     Chinese Yuan Renminbi

If you calculate that since a Starbucks cappuccino costs from 28 - 35 yuan, you can gauge the cost of living in the major cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin.
