If you work for Ethiopian university, your salary will be tax-free.

aldwincariaga - Any foreigner working in the country for more than 180 in a calendar year is subject to Employee income tax (Schedule A). This will be 35% for salaries more than ETB 10,900 (about US$ 500) minus 1,500 (adjustment).

At a personal level i do not agree that an expat shall be subject to taxation in Ethiopia (Schedule A) if his/her contract states that the salary is free of taxes in Ethiopia.

Does anyone know the answer to this? I also have heard that this exemption about working for a university and not having to pay the 35% tax is no longer true, does anyone know for sure? Thanks,
