Sports in Malaysia

Badminton, swimming.

Badminton is indeed one of the most popular sports in Malaysia and the Malaysian team has featured some of the best players in the world. But other sports such as hockey are also very popular as are cricket and football. Indeed, Malaysian football supporters are as enthusiastic as any in the world.

I have attended the Bukit Jalil National Stadium to watch football matches between Malaysia and Indonesia as well as to watch the Thomas & Uber Cups Badminton Contests a couple of times.

While Malaysia doesn't really have any top motorcyclists, they do host the Malaysian MotoGP at the Sepang Circuit which is pretty exciting.

There are some great teams, societies and groups in Malaysian which welcome new members all of the time, KL Expat Malaysia Golf Community who play once a month at a mixture of top courses in and around KL, just  visit our FB page - facebook.com/groups/243032652743360/

Alternatively if you play cricket, you are always welcome to join Kelawar Cricket Club who play most weekends and some mid week games between local and international sides, the standard is reasonable and its a good way to meet and play cricket with various different nationalities, just email - **
