Hello everyone,

The Olympic Games are now just a few days away and we would like to talk about sports.

What sports are the most popular and/or unusual in Brazil?

Are sports facilities easily accessible there? Where and how can one find sports clubs in the region?

Are there sports events regularly held in the country?

And you? What is your favourite sport? Which one(s) do you practice in Brazil?

I like the boxing. I'd really like to be there. I'm in the U.S. today. I am trying to get back to Brazil. The airfare has doubled. I need to wait until it drops back down.

Originally went to Brazil to fight MMA and to polish my Muay Thai and my Brazilian Jiujitsu. Still practice it today.

Seriously??? You mean you're a UFC fighter, Cool!!!! My mate Nate Diaz has also been there to improve his Brazilian Jujitsu and said they were really good. Wish I could take up a marshall art, problem is I'm just too old!
You're not living in Recife by any chance are you?

No I'm not an UFC fighter. My teammates Felipe Silva and Elizeu Zaleski Dos Santos are. My coach, Cristiano Marcello used to fight in the UFC too. I'm in Curitiba (now back in Belgium) fighting out of CM System. Send me a pm if you want to.
