I am a young Australian undertaking a semester abroad in KL in August 2016, then seeking an internship in the field of Marketing from January 2017 onwards.

I think you've hit the right forum.
You might want to try few Facebook groups.. Also try few of the most used classified sites like mudah, ibilik to post your ad for a rommie.
Make most use of your stay here, there are few nicer places in and around MY! Make sure you plan well and try to visit the ones which interests you.!
