Pension and how it works for a British Expat

I am a British Expat i was bit confused with regards to how it works with your pension as an Expat.
Any information on how to best go about it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Ryan,

If you intend to go back, just continue to contribute to your pension.

However, if you don't, then you can transfer it out and invest it with an offshore provider under the Qualified Recognised Overseas Pensions Schemes (QROPS).  You cannot take out and receive the cash.

All the best to you.

cheers,
Jeff

If you're working in China, you will also pay for the Chinese pension insurance. As far as I know you need to work at least 15 years to get pension payed after retirement. When you leave China you can take with you the part that you payed, but not the part that the employer has paid.
It's also to get the Chinese pension after you retired, even you're not living in China anymore ( if you contributed long enough)

Thank you both.
