Hi,

Environmental protection is a challenging issue for all the countries around the world. Would you say this issue is deemed of significance in Ukraine?

Is the country going green through initiatives like waste management and selective sorting programs, renewable energies, public transport, green awareness campaigns and so forth?

How do you personally commit to improve the environment in your daily life?

We would greatly appreciate if you could tell us more about the various local initiatives for sustainable development in Ukraine.

We protested the drilling of shale gas in our area several years ago. We were very concerned about the environmental impact it would have.

Currently, there is no waste management in the rural area we live in, but there is a new law that went into effect after the new year which states that all populated areas (including towns and villages) must have trash removal. So far we have seen no progress in our village, but we have talked to our local representative, and she said that we should have trash removal sometime soon.

We walk around our area whenever we have time and pick up garbage. We figure that if we don't do it, no one else will.

Also, we are thinking of getting solar panels and a wind turbine in the near future.
