This is one thing I never considered. I just received a jury duty summons in the California county where I have legal residence. I can postpone for 6 months, but I have to enter an explicit date to postpone until. Like a lot of expats, I want to spend over 11 months of the year outside the US. Anyone know of any precedents, articles?

The "undue hardship or extreme inconvenience" reason should do it.
