Tips and advice to thrive in Singapore

Hi,

When living in a foreign country, you have to adapt to a new environment, various cultures and different social codes.

How did you manage to adjust to Singapore?

How long does it take to feel at home? Would you say it is an easy process?

According to you, what is key for a successful integration process in Singapore?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience!

Priscilla

Singapore, with its mix of people and cultures, English as common language and well organised, modern amenities is "Asia light" - and as such probably the easiest place in the continent to get used to and feel comfortable in.
Of course the usual caveats for integrating in a foreign environment apply:
- Have an open mind
- Expect the unexpected
- Do accept, not judge
(If the locals are doing it like that, it must be the right way to do it here.)

I was in Singapore during the Malayisian experience as well in the late 80's
It's a greatCity State and I found delight with the ChineseSingapores very proud and elegant .

After 8 weeks in a hotel we got a house and moved in. One of the advantages of that has been the online shopping companies. Well worth searching the net for these as the prices can be a lot better particularly for your favourite alcohol.
