Hi,

As an expat living in Angola, what would you advise the ones about to pack to bring along?

What are the items you can easily find in Angola? On the other hand, what is less common or quite expensive?

Share with us what you would recommend to bring in one’s suitcase or container when moving to Angola.

Thank you in advance,

Christine

The things which you need to bring with you would be ... EVERYTHING... Except liquor. Liquor is the only thing freely available in Angola and at a reasonable price. Everything else...   and I mean everything else is either not available easily or at a fantastic cost. Nothing... practically NOTHING, is in effect Made in Angola.

Pack and br9ng along almost everything -  Undergarments, Socks, Handkerchiefs, Towels, Clothes, shoes and sandals. Practically nothing is made in Angola, so whatever you may bring with you, you may still feel short. Angola is very poor industry-wise, and practically no production of common use items is done in the country. Everything is imported, even food items are imported, except meat and fish and availability of liquor is in plenty, though almost all imported from Portugal/ Spain/ Mexico. Milk products are invariably in short supply.
Now you could probably decide what to bring with you?
