Single lady looking to move to Malta

I am sorry to hear about the break up. It must be a really tough moment. But I am happy to see that you are all revved up to start again. That's the way to go!

I presume you have visited Malta already. Right? As you said Sliema and St. Julian's are pretty busy. But don't restrict yourself to these two localities. Property (buying or renting) is a bit pricey there. Remember that Malta is really small. Everywhere is within reach. However, if you would like to live in that area, I would suggest you look also at Gżira, Msida and Ta' Xbiex. You could find cheaper property there. And there are also many foreigners who live in these three localities.

I just wanted to add a few words of support!
Our Daughter moved to Mosta in Malta over three years ago at the age of 22........ Completely on her own. She had first visited as a teen and fell in love with the Islands warmth ( from the Maltese!) the support and the ease of friendships!

She's still there (moved to a place called Naxxar now) and me and her dad and brother are now moving there too! She absolutely found it the right thing to do on her own, is very independent and has made lots of friends. She had Maltese lessons, joined a gym, joined every class of something and threw herself he's first into making a happy life for herself. She's had a great experience and couldn't have had the life she leads in Malta, here in London.
She bought a Maltese car, got her paperwork sorted out with her ID and hasn't looked back, only forwards! Me and her dad are in our early forties so we are taking an inspired "leaf" from her book and making our life change for the better too!

How did she find looking for employment? I am thinking I may need to find something to fall back on if the business is slow to get going.

like you i had a break up, (well i am waiting on a divorce back in the UK.)
i cam here to start again and get away from it all.
i arrived in Malta in April and am settling in well. its still early days for me but i feel i have made the best choice for this chapter of my life.
i was at the job plus to fill in some forms last week and in my wait i browsed the job boards. Their was a HR board. had a number of jobs on it.
Also you may want to try linked in they have a job search feature you can download as an app. it allows company's to know you are looking for work.
I found konnekt job agency based in San Gwan the best. arranged a number of interviews for me. and i was not restricted to any one recruiter. i must have had about three different ones contact me and arrange interviews.
check out Rubs property on facebook that will give you a more up to date idea of prices to rent places. also i found ppl on their a lot more responsive than the bigger ppl like frank salt and simon manno.
