Kuwait Oil Company

Contemplating accepting an offer from KOC but wanted to check if any of our members are currently working at KOC and aware of any workforce reduction due to low crude oil prices.

Also what would be the Salary Grade Level for a Specialist - Supply Chain role and the applicable Western Rate (Base Salary) per month in KWD for this grade. I was informed that compensation package is heavily negotiated during the recruitment stage and I want to make sure that I have a fair offer.

The compensation document indicates the following:

1. Basic Salary
2. Cost of Living Allowance
3. Housing Allowance
4. Housing Grant
5. Additional Cola
6 Total Cash (Add 1 to 5)

Are items 2 to 5 fixed as per Company Policy or are they negotiable like the base salary?

I will really appreciate fellow members input and advise on this. Please IM me if you prefer.

Haven't heard of any projects being affected yet, though have seen a lot of tightening ... including that of hiring westerners - lol ... working the PMC's is probably one of the last safe havens in the industry.

Contracts between Company and PMC will determine salary grade spic's and may appear negotiable but in reality they have little leeway in regards to your 'total package' offer ... and becomes even tighter if being hired for a specific project.  No ones going to offer you so much that they're not making something off of you, thats not how the business model works.

The bigger question is ... does the offer (location, culture, personal freedom and or lack of -general lifestyle-, safety/security, health, compensation) present the quality of life that your used to and expect ... and that goes so much further then just a salary package.

Some people would except much less compensation just for the opportunity to be here, others you couldn't offer them enough to make the move.  (it's a very personal decision)

Regardless ... Good Luck
