Cost to live in Vietnam

I am wondering about about the average cost to live in Vietnam.

I think it depend on where will you live. If you live in HCM city or HN,  I think it about 300-400$/month..

Breakfast: 1-2 Usd/pax
Lunch: 2-3 usd/pax
Dinner: 2-3 usd/pax
Taxi: 0.8 usd/km
Drink: 1 usd/bottle
Rental room: 100-150 usd/month (In city)
Rental house: 250-500 usd/month
Electricity: 0.2 usd/kw
Water: 0.25 usd/m3
Internet: 10 usd/month
Petrol: 3.5 usd/gallon
T shirt: 5-10 usd/pcs
Short: 5-10 usd/pcs
Motor taxi: 0.25 usd/km

I spend roughly 400USD per mont including rent, motor bike hire and food.
Rent- $220
Motorbike- $50
Food- $100-$150 (depending where you go and what you like)
Petrol $10

Average cost to live like a local would be cheap as chips. I however eat lots of western food, live in an expat apartment complex and drink at bars with foreign prices. All up I live off about $1500 USD. It all depends how you want to live.

To live a good life here, eating, decent living area, etc; much like you did in a the developed country you are used to will cost about $1500 USD per month.
You can live cheaper, but will have to cut down on import items from industrial countries.
