Dependant Pass; How long does it take to get it?

Just before my current visa expires I will get married.

I wonder how long it will take to get a dependant pass, so I can save on costs to go back and forth.

I am assuming that you are male.....

A Dependents Pass is almost impossible to obtain for a married man, as the government thinking tends to be that a man should, or could not be dependent on a woman.

Look at something like a Class K Permit, instead. You need to evidence that you have $24,000 equivalent per annum from sources other than work to support you.

The amount is 24,000 US Dollars per year, or equivalent in Kenya Shillings. The Class K permit costs Ksh 200,000 for two years. It can take up to three months to process. If your visa expires in the meantime, you will need to leave Kenya (and the East African community), then return, to renew it.
