Hi
Quick Question
What is the correct type of Federal Police office that deals with Estrangeiros?
Trying to find one in Sao Jose dos Campos

thanks

James

You should be able to do the change of address at the São José dos Campos delegacy of the Policia Federal, even though it is not a Superintendência Regional. If they won't take the information and enter it into their computer system, then you'll have to do it at the Superintencência Regional da Policia Federal in São Paulo (Lapa)

DPF São José dos Campos - Av. Tívoli, 44 - Vila Betania, São José dos Campos - SP, 12245-481
Telephone:(12) 3202-7100

Thanks
Do you think it's possible to get the Carteira de Trabalho in Sao Jose dos Campos
or would that involve a schlepp to Sao Paulo?

James

Looks like you might be in luck...

Check with them here before you schlep off to São Paulo:

Ministério do Trabalho-Delegacia Regional do Trabalho São José dos Campos
Av. Dep. Benedito Matarazzo, São José dos Campos - SP, 12245-190
Telephone:(12) 3921-5164

Thanks James
The great thing is these two offices are both within a quick walk of each other and not far from where I live
so I really hope it can all be done here

I will keep you updated on what I find out

Regards
Steve

At the end of this month, I will be moving to a new address. I know that I'll have to notify the Federal Police of a change of address - are their other federal/local agencies that I also need to notify? Thank you.

James

You should update the address on your CPF (can be done online) but few people ever do that. It's no big deal and doesn't seem completely necessary. If you have a bank account then you should notify your bank and have the account transfered to a branch in the new location.

Cheers,
James

Dear friend.
You must communicate your new address to the federal police resonsabile (PF) for your area, but you should upgrade to the new address things like CPF (it's always required), work book (carteira de trabalho), electoral title if you own it.
Also remember that in Brazil often is require proof of address (for making contracts like water, electricity, gas, etc.) so if you have a bank account or some kind of telephone bill in your name, is always better update everything.

I hope to be useful.
Good luck

Thank you, DarTro78! :)

Hi
Ok so I can report back
I registered an address change at that PF you gave me the adress for in Sao Jose dos Campos

No problem at all , very nice friendly efficient PF office
I did not even need photo's , got a document confirming my new adress and a new SINCRE
for the actual proof I showed gas bill in my wife's name here here and the mariage certificate

Then I went to Ministeiro de Trabalho , I have an appointment there for the workbook on tuesday

So I can report back all these things are easily possible in São Jose dos Campos and my experience was positive
