Making phone calls in Jordan

Hi,

When settling in Jordan, one of the priorities is to be able to make phone calls.

How to proceed to get a landline installed in Jordan?

What are the mobile operators?

What is your average monthly budget?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience,

Maximilien

Hello there

The telecommunication system here is quite advanced as it should, whereas setting one up for the house is easy breezy just pop into one of the Orange outlets with the passport they'll do the rest.

Orange, Zain, and Umniah are the top mobile solution providers, setting up a plan with them is more easier. 4G home Internet with Orange is $30 plus $5 for the mobile voice plan - since all incoming calls are free you'll only pay fairly for outgoing. Orange also provide home Internet solution which compared to their 4G or LTE are bit slower atm.

Jordanian telecom taxes are at whopping 44% which will ding the wallet.

Happy settling :)

yes as Kate said.... Zain is good and have more participators... i think 1 million.

in anyway i think the participators of the three companies are divided like this:

Amman residence - Zain
North and south Jordan - Orange
Students Umnia.

in many cases most of  Jordanian have the three lines ;)
