Hello All ,

I had attended an interview with a company in Oman and they have provided  me an offer also . The last day I send them my acceptance on the offer and still awaiting to hear back from HR. Meanwhile shall I take this opportunity here to have an idea of the processes. I would like to clarify on a couple of clarification which I didnt get a clear response going through the forums here.

1) Do I need to provide the original attested certificates (Engineering Degree) to the company or only scanned attested copies are enough for labor clearance. Is it wise for the company to request my original certificates when I am in Doha now.
2) how much time it would take roughly for a Labor clearance?
3) Is it when the labor clearance is made that I have to go for the medical test at a GAMCA approved clinic and send them the report?

Kindly help me out with my query. Thanks in advance

Are you sure the labor clearance (for private sector) will not take more than one month as per your post?

never ever send your original documents to anyone as it may lost in the post. you need to send them original medical report attested by oman embassy in the country. Labor clearance its difficult to ans and you can find lots of forums here discussing the same thing browse them. good luck

Here in Oman now it is common that they as for documents. Same happened with me I sent them from Pakistan, now doing job safely here. Just ensure you negotiate everything first.

Hi
1. Some companies might insist you to send originals. But its a risky thing to do with your 'treasured' documents for obvious reasons. I believe original document submission is not a mandatory requirement set up by the govt. authorities in Oman. But usually, original Medical fitness reports (with hologram) are requested.
2. Time taken for labour clearance ?? is highly variable.... Say, from 10 days to 10 months...!!! I believe it depends on your employer's efficiency/ contacts within the concerned Ministry and how badly they need you to join them!
3. Send all documents at once (its convenient too). Courier charges in my case: Rs.3400 from Mumbai to Sohar via DHL. Medical fitness test reports are valid for 6 months from the date of issue, so don't worry. GAMCA test centers charge Rs.3800 per head for Oman medical fitness testing (its the same all over India).
