Music is said to be a universal language. Indeed it helps to discover and better understand the culture of a country.

What are the most popular music genres in Belgium? How about traditional music and instruments?

Who are the local artists you would recommend?

Where can you listen to them: are there any concerts or music festival held regularly?

Triggerfinger (Belgian/Flemish rock group) and Selah Sue (Belgian/Flemish singer/songwriter)............fantastic. Schlager music tends to be popular here in Flanders. In my opinion rock and pop music are the most popular music genres in Flemish Belgium. I am not sure about Wallonia

A Belgian (Walloon) invented an instrument which is commonly used today; the saxophone. Adolphe (Antoine-Joseph) Sax was his name.

In regards to concerts here........Oh my, there are tons of concerts all over Belgium especially during the summer. We have two popular concerts here in Hasselt during the summer, Pukkelpop (for the younger folks) and Rimpelrock (for the older folks).
