What's up everybody? My name is Josh, a Canadian just landed in China on a teaching contract at a university in Yanjiao, a town just east of Beijing. I am heading into Beijing with some of my fellow teachers this weekend and would really enjoy meeting and hanging out with some new people who are familiar with the city and know some good watering holes.

Feel free to email me and we can find a spot to meet up on Saturday. josh.rs.benton[at]gmail.com

I'm also wondering if there's anybody out there who would be interested in doing a little jamming...I've played guitar and sung vocals for a number of struggling bands back in Toronto and would love to meet some local musicians...maybe get something going in Beijing? I'm sure stranger things have happened..

Hope that you establish new contacts soon.

For jamming sessions, you should also post an advert under the Beijing classifieds by selecting the Community section and Artists, Musicians sub-section. Classifieds is specially designed for such adverts.

Make the most of your new environment and keep us updated about your impressions of Beijing.

Regards,
Sheetul

Hi Josh,

are you still in Yanjiao, in Beijing or elsewhere? We are Oliver and Danying, and have been living in Yanjiao and Beijing for many years.

When we are in Yanjiao we always wonder if there a re other foreigners too? There is no Starbucks yet, but there is a coffee opportunity everywhere :-).

Best from Oliver

I would like to inform you that this is an old topic. But, you might want to introduce yourself in a new topic on the Beijing forum for more visibility ?  wink.png
