Can any one suggest a really good dentist. I have tried the Al Basma clinic on Shar-e- Nasr but it was a disaster.

You can also try Dr. Khan (Orthodontic), this Doc is very professional when it comes to dental treatment. He is also a member of the European & American Orthodontic society. His cell number 0926281211

I've been told the St. James Hospital in Tripoli has the best in country and is supposed to be pretty state of the art. I haven't been there yet but have an appointment for later this week to 'check it out' to see if I trust them for 2 crowns. It's either that or Malta.

I also have an urgent case ... my teeth has been broken partially, the small correction is necessary.  Does anyone know appropriate place to do it, close to City center, if possible..?

Thanks

There is also a very good Indian dentist in Libyan-British Clinic. I have never used his services but a few friends have and they are all quite happy with his skills.

Could you be  more specific ?   I just need to know address of the place, I'll go there and do the rest... besides, some of the phones from above does not reply. I only want to fix my tooth, and I have to do it quickly ....

Thanks guys.

Libyan British Medical Centre is in Ben Ashour area. It used to be called Libyan-Swiss before the fracas with the Swiss started.

It is commonly known in Tripoli, anyone can give you directions to that place.

I need to follow this up with a report as I did go to the dentist at the St. James.

I felt comfortable enough to give the local facility/dentist a try. Had a cavity beneath a crown so the crowns had to come off and the work done to take care of the cavity. It seemed okay to me, treated very well, comfortable no pain.

However, when I got home to the US a month later I went to my own dentist to have him take a look. Xray and guess what, seems they didn't get all the cavity, matter of fact, left a big enough piece I almost needed a root canal (YIKES!!!). So off came the crowns again and the work done right. Also, the locals didn't coat the teeth under the removed crowns with some sort of resin to prevent new decay. Dentist at home took care of that also.

Overall, for MINOR stuff, I'd say it is okay to go to St. James. But anything beyond a simple filling or cleaning...head home.

Sleepy Hollow

The best dentists in Tripli are in St.James hospital.

Which based on Padrino's post above yours means the rest of them in Tripoli must be really bad.

@Padrino, thanks for posting the follow up. Hope your gnashers are fully fit now.

Our experience with the dentist at the St.James hospital was really good. I would recommend him for fillings and cleanings. The rest, I am not sure but he seems quite wise and no-nonsense kind'a guy.
We could never reach to that Dr. Rania person whose number is posted here!?!
