Visiting Romania next August - What to visit?

I reckon TripAdvisor is where you need to be checking then. Or VisitRomania. While you are here, would you also pass by a local shelter, and adopt a nice little puppy. That is what every visitor to Romania do. And if you have a bigger heart, then perhaps visit an orphanage. Or better yet, visit them both.

Most websites will probably show you places like Ceausescu's Palace or the Old Town - some interesting stuff to see, but quite touristy.

I would suggest to get in touch with Interesting Times Bureau. They make alternative tours of Bucharest - like abandoned historical buildings, communist looking areas, neighbourhoods, hip bars etc.

I'm sure you'll get some nice ideas from them
