You don't have to convert your driving license.

You apply for a KSA driving license in Dallah Driving/Traffic Office. The address is along the Takhassusi Road, going north. Get a taxi infront of King Faisal Hospital Main Gate (Takhasusi Road), tell driver to go to Dallah Driving school.

Bring with you Iqama, and employment certificate. Buy green folder from any of the shops outside the gate.

You can rent a car using your iqama and international driving license. btw.

Just adding to the previous post.

Make sure you have photo copies of your documents with you. Make 2 sets to be on safe side.

When you reaches Dallah Driving School, you will find a few shops on the right side of School Gate. Go there, ask for to make the file. They will make it for you. I don't remember correctly, but you might have to fill a form also. If that's the case, you can ask them. They will fill it for you for a negligible fee.

The school will take a basic driving test for you. If you passes it and also having license from your home country (do make sure to have both original and copies of it). I believe, they will ask you to take driving signs test (famous as computer test). Make sure you are already proficient in it.

If you passes above all, you have to submit the fee via Sadad (ATM or Online Banking) for 5 /10 years. Then you have to go to a traffic police building right in front of main gate to get your license. You would have to wait for sometime there after submitting your documents; depending on the crowd.

Forgot to mention the need for photos. Go to any photo studio and tell them you need photos for driving license. They will do the needful.

I hope you and others will share their experiences.
