To go to the UK you need a definite job offer from a company that is willing and able to sponsor you for a work visa. So you go to wherever the job is.

Lots of calm villages, but little chance of work, and the shopping is rubbish.
The Yorkshire is lovely, perhaps somewhere around Malham, near the cove is amazingly beautiful.

Yorkshire Dales, Pennines , any area north of Leeds and Bradford is amazingly beautiful, timeless, and inexpensive to live in. People are friendly and helpful. One problem ofcourse : It will take you ages to understand Yorkshire accent and slang.
