New motorbike question

Is it easy to purchase a new bike in Saigon and then have it registered and plated in the wife hometown. She thinks we need to buy in her hometown. I am looking at a 250cc Blackster sold by Beneli.

It may be possible, but not recommended, because transfering registratiknfrom Saigon will cost a fortune. It is better to take he bike's details and order it through a dealer inyour wife's town. This way registration will also be cheaper.

She needs to register the bike in her hometown with the local government. When you go to the office to pick up the plate, I believe the bike has to be there too, so might as well purchase and register the bike wherever her hometown is. Ralphnhatrang was right, it is possible to register the bike to someone else from Saigon, then transfer back to her name, but the process of transferring the title is complicated.

your supposed to have the bike registered ( plates and card) where you are rgistered.  You are registered right?  It would be easier to get a card and plate in your wife's name if you buy it in her home town.  If you don't just transfer the registration to your resident city and get a new plate.
