How is a cinema illegal like prostitution or alcohol? Cinema is simply a big screen with same media that is sold and broadcasted in Saudi Arabia.

Stop treating Cinema like a stripclub or any other place of menace.

I have no idea where some of these prices are coming from

Riyadh

accommodation prices   somewhere between 12000-30000 /month - portacabin on on the Sand or student accommodation up to a proper house on a compound.

public transportation fares (tube, bus etc.) - car insurance is about 800 a month then close to nothing to fuel it. Car depreciation is a non issue if your a western person you can probably sell it for what you bought it for.

food prices (your monthly budget) 1200/month   - then a bunch of Shawrma or other bits at 20 riyals a time

health prices (for those who need medical insurance) no idea - never needed and the company should pay.

education prices (if you need to pay) one kid   35,000 a year then the school bus is more.

energy prices (oil, electricity)  I get a bill for 100 riyals  on average per month

common bills (Internet, television, telephone, mobile phone)   STC/Mobily Router is 100 a month, pay as you go phone 50 riyals a month.

price for a good menu in a traditional restaurant 150-200 give or take/per person - I think last time Najd village was 1200 for 8 of us.

price for a coffee or a drink 200/month

price for cinema tickets  - depends you can buy a projector and surround sound cheap or many of the compounds have these or some basements in peoples houses

at last someone quoting a real price for accomodation

> Accommodation prices  - 600 to 800 per month unfurnished sharing flat or 1400 to 2100 SAR per month for furnished apartment (with free WIFI, water and electricity

> public transportation fares (tube, bus etc.)  - Per month 200 for shuttle service or 10-30SAR per one-way taxi ride

> food prices (your monthly budget)  - 1500 per month

> health prices (for those who need medical insurance) - 3000 SAR per year

> education prices (if you need to pay)  - 5000.00 per year

> energy prices (oil, electricity) -  250 SAR per month

> common bills (Internet, television, telephone, mobile phone) - 300 per month

> price for a good menu in a traditional restaurant  - 250 per week

> price for a coffee or a drink  - 20 sr per day

> price for cinema tickets  - there is no cinema in KSA

I'm shocked at some of the prices you guy's are paying for accommodation and why!!

Ok if you have your families with you I can understand living in a compound. But if you're a single male!

I have a 2 bed 2 bath unfurnished apt in Rawdah district, Jeddah and pay 2500 SAR per month including utility bills.

So why do people keep posting at last a realistic housing cost?

I'm happy with the location, the apt and the price.

I did pay 6 months upfront, but in the grand scheme of things a pittance to what a lot of you guys are paying.

> accommodation prices: SR 25,000 if you're lucky for a 2 bedroom apartment that is "ok". If you want something better then you need to pay SR 35,000 and more.

> public transportation fares (tube, bus etc.): I pay SR 50 / day for 2 way trip for work and home. I use Uber service.

> food prices (your monthly budget): SR 1000 for a household of 2 people

> health prices (for those who need medical insurance): I heard it could be SR 3000 per person for one year, given that this person is young and has no health issues.

> education prices (if you need to pay): SR 20K or more if it's a fancy private school

> energy prices (oil, electricity): SR 300/month for electricity

> common bills (Internet, television, telephone, mobile phone): SR 400/month for mobile with unlimited 3G

> price for a good menu in a traditional restaurant: I don't go to traditional restaurants, but let's say "Al-Baik" would be SR 30/person max.

> price for a coffee or a drink: SR 5 for a cheap cup from Dunkin Donuts for example, SR 20 max for cafe quality and Starbucks

> price for cinema tickets: no cinema here XD
