Even that does not work and that is why we rely on members reporting unsolicited and annoying private messages or contact requests and topic postings. We routinely ban members for such violations of our rules.

No female member should have to change her avatar photo in order to be safe here on Expat-blog. We take issues like this quite seriously.

I was talking about a gross-looking person. You can't tell what's under the niqab.

It doesn't eradicate the problem, but lessens it. I used to be a moderator on a social website. One thing I learnt, is the majority of complaints, I'm confident to say over 90%, was from women with average-to pretty avatars. They are more likely to be targeted than someone hideous-looking, for obvious reasons.

Even I get those messages, they don't even bother to read my profile and if they did, they will never text me.

Your avatar is normal. Try changing it to an aged women, and you will notice a difference. They will think twice about being horny with a granny.

On behalf of Egyptian people and as an Egyptian man (married and have 4 daughters ), I apology for any disturbance that any immature guy or a young kid has caused you during your accommodation , and I believe that most of the Egyptian people are not like that and don't accept such behavior.

I wouldn't apologize on behalf of anyone. Go to her country, and see if anyone apologizes for any treatment that you may receive at the hand of others. Most likely they will tell you to stop complaining, and that if you don't like it there, you know where the airport is, or they will probably be more than happy to escort you on a free ride there themselves.

I don't know how is that! At every post of mine I get a new private message or a friend request! And all of that: from Egyptians ONLY, and what is most rediculous? All have the same text! So silly! like they are born from the same mother. I made it clear in my description that you will be blocked or reported but it seems not interesting. Since then I got a soooo big curiosity: you all live for/from harassment ? Who knows if I will get a clear answer before I die!

You want them to send, so that you can complain about it. And what better way than uploading a nice pic to get their attention. It's a bit like dressing provocatively, and then complaining why people are staring at you.

It's part & parcel of the Internet, has always been, and will always continue to be. Only thing you can do about it is accept it will always happen so simply - report/block them. No amount of complaining will change it.

To any member who is getting unwanted PM's.

These can be reported. When you open the message, click on the action button at the top of the message. Click report and then tell admin why you are reporting this.
DO NOT delete the message as admin will want to check it.

Unfortunately there will always be trolls, misfits and unsavory types who use the internet for their own nefarious purposes. 

There are over a million members here on EB and so it is very difficult for admin to weed out each and every unwanted post or PM.

Please assist by reporting them.

Help our site by Reporting these messages you receive. We will quickly eradicate those who are here for dating.

Our new version of the site will be coming very soon, all these problems will no more exist. So bear & Report a couple of months more

Deep down they enjoy the attention, but pretend they don't. So come up with the "stop adding me!" - "stop starring at me!" and whatever fake hysteria such characters usually come up with - as a way to let people know just how popular they are with the opposite gender, that they are getting so much attention from them. Ok thanks for letting us know about that, although none of us asked or is interested. As all you had to do was disable your private messaging system/delete/block/report to the admins/moderators, and spare us this I'm so popular post. But no, you just can't help yourself.

I don't think this was her intention, XB23: I think she was shaming whoever was messaging her. If threatened to be exposed, a harasser will think twice before sending a private message: in fact, I bet her little strategy worked. Besides, I don't think harassment boosts any woman's ego, they don't enjoy it. I mean, us guys, we would love to be harassed by the opposite sex (obviously), but women don't think that way; in general, they find it repulsive, not seductive.
