Hope someone can provide me an up-to-date information about current cost of living in Laos, I'm planning to accept an offer of $1,700 for a Civil Engineer position in Nam Ngiep Dam project.

I would think it is $1700 a month as the average engineer position here in Laos pays around $250 + a week

May not be much but the $250 a week I quoted is correct. Off govt website. I also have Lao friends with their own construction companies, have expat friends working in Laos.
Low salary is the reason I do not want to work in Laos.
